School starts for our community this week. At Trinity Fremont, our K-8 school starts tomorrow (Wednesday). There are so many different emotions surrounding this school year. How do you move forward? Trust.
This week, we take a break from our normal routine of sermon reflection and talk about how different people are responding to the start of the school year. How is your family responding? Where are you placing your trust? In your head, your hands, your heart? Or in Jesus?
If you didn't hear this past Sunday's Sermon, you can listen to it here: https://bit.ly/3kxat4p
We'd love to hear your responses to the following thoughts. Send your responses to trinityfremontpodcast@gmail.com
As we binge read the Bible, where in God’s Word can we turn in times of fear and anxiety (list compiled from Concordia Publishing House’s Pastoral Care Companion)?
Prayers (from Concordia Publishing House’s Pastoral Care Companion):
O most loving Father, You want us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing except losing You, and to lay all our cares on You, knowing that You care for us. Strengthen _name_ in _his/her_ faith in You. Grant that the fears and anxieties of this mortal life may not separate _him/her_ from Your love shown to us in Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Lord Jesus Christ, You commanded the wind and the waves, and they obeyed You. Speak peace to _name_, who is troubled by fear. By the power of Your Word, calm _his/her_ anxious heart and the raging storms in _his/her_ spirit; for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
