As we wrap up this series, this week we look at a passage that is commonly misinterpreted. The city of Laodicea had a water supply problem--their only way to get water was via aqueducts from neighboring cities. One city, Hierapolis, had hot, mineral springs, and the other, Colossae, had cool, refreshing water; but by the time either got to Laodicea, the water was lukewarm and not good for anything. Jesus applies this very real problem to the spirituality of this church. He tells them that their spirituality is worthless because they are making no impact for the sake of the Gospel. We pray this message encourages you and helps you take a look at your own life to see what kind of impact you are making!
