164 | John Cameron | How My Student Works Stint Helped Me Evolve into a More Confident Individual
In today’s show, Chris interviews Student Works District Manager, John Cameron. John has been with Student Works for five years and is on track to generate a million dollars in sales this year.
Growing up, John was heavily influenced by his dad, a dynamic entrepreneur. Inspired by his dad’s success, in grade eleven, John even started a small landscaping business but failed to really follow through on it.
In this segment of the show, John shares how his lack of confidence held him back in his teenage years.
Joining Student Works and his huge success as a first-year student painter was a huge boost to John’s self-worth. And this had a massive ripple effect on all aspects of his life – which led to better relationships, and eventually a more fulfilling life.
In the next segment of the show, John regales listeners by sharing some interesting anecdotes from his Student Works life.
Having spent five years at the program, what are some of the most important takeaways for John?
The person that you are right now is not the person that can run a large, successful business.
If you are an aspiring entrepreneur, you need to realize that you have a long way to go. You need to be humble enough to realize that you are yet to develop skill sets and habits that ensure consistent and long-term success. And perhaps, working with well-meaning mentors is the surest way to facilitate this. It is truly surprising how most of us miss something so glaringly obvious. If you are one of these people who are failing to invest due efforts in continuous learning and development, listening to this segment of the show will particularly help you out.
We also discuss why working integrity and an open mindset is crucial for realizing your full potential.
We hope you enjoy this show!
