Thank you to Underground Printing for making this all possible. Rishi and Ryan have been our biggest supporters from the beginning. They're also behind our Ann Arbor Institutions t-shirt program, which this week's is Dominick's.
And let's not leave out our associate sponsors: HomeSure Lending, Ann Arbor Elder Law, the Residence Inn Ann Arbor Downtown, Michigan Law Grad, Human Element, The Phil Klein Insurance Group, and Information Entropy.
1.Preview Wrapstarts at 1:00
Things we learned about Michigan while doing the previews. Long discussion about the cornerbacks since they moved Sammy Faustin over. How do they treat Joe Milton at quarterback? Special teams: who should return punts?
2. Jug Myths wsg Greg Dooley of MVictorsstarts at 31:03
Dooley joins us to talk about the real Jug story. No, they didn't break it and replace it. No, Minnesota wasn't trying to poison our water. No, Yost didn't care about his 30 cent jug or want it back until they decided to make it a rivalry trophy in 1909. Yes, Greg told Chase Winovich not to hold the jug like that.
3. Minnesota Offensestarts at 56:40
Their offensive line all returned BUT there may be some big COVID misses with the right side of their line, which went five deep and needs to draw in a sixth. The right guard is shifting out to tackle, the center is moving into guard, and they're drawing in a center who was decent in a little bit of time last year but the other guard might be iffy. If Michigan's DL can match up with that you shut down the system. You're probably not shutting down Rashod Bateman.
4. Minnesota Defensestarts at 1:12:00
An impressive nose tackle but not much back in the pass rush category except a bona fide freak who is not going to be a Carter Coughlin one for one. They're worried about their nickel back position. Yes, the corners are fine. The safety replacing Antoine Winfield Jr. is okay but a big drop because Winfield was great. Predictions.
MUSIC:I'm excited to finally get a chance to share The Missing Chums, after interacting for years with their drummer (a huge MGoBlog fan) on Twitter. Everything's off their album Yes, You May. I had to ask really nice!
- "Yes, You May"
- "On the Dole"
- "So So, Very Very"
- “Across 110th Street”
If you or a friend made some good tunes and don't have a label out scrubbing for them we'd be happy to feature you.
