 Crowned the “King of Melodies,” Philadelphia based artist, DYP, has a talent for keeping fans
on their toes. Different and experimental, DYP is consistent in his versatility. He is constantly
mixing things up, always offering something new to the table. Audiences are left wondering
what he's going to drop next, anticipating the surprise in every release. Jaw-dropping, honest,
and raw, DYP says the unexpected. Creating a pure realism, his music draws a wide range of
emotion. Some songs will make you cry, others will make you fall in love, and some will make
you want to jump up and dance.
Lyrically gifted, DYP creates a poetic justice for others, speaking the people's truth. He
speaks directly to his audience, allowing his words to become a conversation. His music is
personal but relatable. DYP adds elements from his heart and his past, finessing his songs in
a special way, allowing fans to connect to those feelings. “I want people to feel what I feel,”
DYP says. “I want people to step in my shoes just based off of the words that I put together in
this little melody.”
When DYP was young, he struggled with a speech impediment. Introverted and anti-social,
he wasn’t good with public speaking, stuttering often. Unable to effectively communicate
verbally, he was drawn to writing poetry. His poems became a method of coping with difficult
emotions and experiences. At age 13, DYP went to a studio for the first time. He loved the
experience of being in the booth and was immediately hooked. He started writing songs,
learning all he could about music. Soon, DYP met a producer and began recording. He’s
been at it for about a decade now, drawing on his connection to the studio. DYP loves to do
features with other artists, as he feeds off the energy in collaboration.

Dekarian “Killa D”  Ashley was Born in Shreveport, La. 

(raised in Minden, La) He began his musical aspirations at 12 Years old, with only a Karaoke Machine and a microphone. Growing up, he drew inspiration from great rap artists such a Boosie, Tupac, UGK, Webbie, Lil Wayne, B Gizzle and others. With so many negative influences in the world, Killa D decided to use his music as an escape to keep him from falling victim to the streets.  Shortly after relocating to Houston, Tx, in 2009 from attending college for an two year course of “Automotive Technology” where his grandfather was his mentor/teacher. Killa D attended various networking events in Houston, where he met industry professionals to help him further his career.

In 2014 he signed an 2 year management contract with Grinding Independent Gangstas (GIG ENT) to release his debut single “Dont Be Afraid (Wurk!)" feat TheazyStaccs, in 2014. The project grew great attention with reaching L.A.D Djs, OG Ron C, Dj Hollygrove, Dj YoungHurk, Dj Chase & other Djs around Houston

 

. Tostart of 2017, his second single, “Bout Dat” Feat Jus Kno Mac, gained an even greater response, getting regular spins in the clubs. As always, Killa D is currently working on his next great project that will get people talking. Killa D persevered from a life threatened by the streets, to becoming a an MC with a message and a purpose.
