Hi Philosophers!
Let's consider the current state of the art “fine tuning argument” (one example that works like all the others),
P1) If the e- (electro negativity) constant is slightly changed (made stronger or weaker), molecules and life as we know it become impossible.
P2) If the e- constant is set by a random process, it is very unlikely it would allow for molecules and life as we know it.
P3) If the e- constant is set by a super intelligent, super powerful designer, it is very likely it would allow for molecules and life as we know it.
P4) We should accept the explanation that makes what we observe, molecules and life as we know it, more likely.
C) We should accept the existence of a super intelligent, super powerful designer. This, many call God.
So let’s look at this argument in our talk, and consider the relevant premises (P 1- 4).
All life as we know it is made of molecules. No molecules, no life. So why did God, if God exists, make us out of molecules? This is a question about what we can know, epistemology. Please explain your view in a paragraph. Remember, if you are and Atheist, pretend you are a Theist, and answer the question as best you can, or can’t. If you are a Theist, answer the question as best you can, or can’t. One thought: How many universes? Enjoy!
Cheers~
