This episode came about from a comment I saw on Facebook. It was such a good comment and stated something I have been teaching and saying for years. We should not be as focused as we seem to be sometimes on refutation of error. We should, rather, focus on teaching the truth and let the truth of God's Word illuminate those in the darkness of error to the point where the error is no longer a problem. Here is the comment:
"In our increasingly biblically illiterate culture (church and secular), perhaps it would often be of greater value to teach biblical truths than it would be to to condemn “beliefs” long since practically removed from any real association with Scripture.
Said another way, condemning unbiblical positions to those woefully ignorant of the Bible in the first place does little to dispel their ignorance and replace it with knowledge and understanding."
Please take a listen and let me know what you think.
