In this bonus lookback episode, we examine the merits and flaws of M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable. Released in 2000, Unbreakable sought to deconstruct the classic tropes of superhero lore while providing a more grounded origin for its protagonist, played by Bruce Willis. Its plot centers on David Dunn, a depressed security worker who discovers he may possess invulnerability after learning he is the sole survivor of a horrific accident. With the aid of an eccentric comic book art dealer, played by Samuel L. Jackson, he begins to examine his past and, in doing so, unearths his true purpose.
