E64: How a Final Year Medical Student transitioned into an Entrepreneur - Aysha Ingar (Founder of Muslimah)
In this week’s episode we are joined by Aysha Ingar, a final year medical student at King’s College London. Tune in as she shares her story of why she chose to pursue medicine and the challenges she had to overcome to finally get a place at medical school. We learn how she developed a growth mindset and kept trying despite being rejected twice. Aysha shares why she founded Muslimah after experiencing the difficulties of attending to her five daily prayers. Often having to resort to praying in public or missing it altogether due to the limited exposure to female friendly prayer spaces.
We delve into the process of how she took Muslimah from concept into reality to help solve a problem many Muslim women face on a daily basis without any previous experience, technology background or startup capital. Aysha shares the importance of seeking help and why we should take the leap of faith and get started with our ideas. As a result she won the idea factory competition and even presented Muslimah to Her Majesty the Queen.
Aysha Ingar is a final year medical student and the Founder & CEO of Muslimah, the world's only Islamic app dedicated for Muslim women.
Muslimah is available to download now on the App Store and Google Play Store.
