You never know.
ABe lincoln twice grabbed someone by the neck and threw them off of their feet.
Young umarried woman with a child, living in poverty and without a job… barely keeping her son fed. Through a blood test was found out to be the last living survivor of an american indian tribe. When she began to talk about this, word got out. Other indian chiefs who had casinos and approached her saying she could open a casino… they would foot the bill for a piece of the pie… within days she had money beyond her wildest dreams.
Mom and Dad had 6 kids, only one survived. Both parents had STD’s and she was pregnant again… should they have the baby? If you abort this child you just aborted Mozart.
John a mild mannered man in his late 40’s and attending a small bible college. He was always so kind, gentle and generous. He seemingly would be an easy target living in Chicago to hold up or take advantage of. John Barr had multiple black belts in numerous martial arts, was world renowned and had fought the likes of Bruce Lee, Stephen Segal and more… if you were to cross him to try to take advantage of him you probably would never walk away from that scenario… and quite literally never walk again.
Proverbs 18:2
A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion
I was sitting with a close group of friends yesterday. We are all pastors and are all solid in our faith… and yet in this pandemic we all have certain struggles that we are dealing with. And as we talked openly about it, I realized these are men who I KNOW have strong devotional times and strong prayer lives and if we are dealing with stress- how much more are others who do not have the same spiritual depth.
You never know what others are about, dealing with or stressed out about. You don’t know someones history or how close to the breaking point they may be.
This weekend lets remember that we don’t know. And in turn lets treat everyone with some patience, some dignity and some love.
A friend of mine tells a story (before he was a Christian) of being in traffic and having guy cut him off in traffic and almost cause him an accident. He was so furious that he started to follow the guy… now the guy seemed to driving even more erratic… my friend was sure the guy was scared and trying to outrun him. Finally the guy swerves into a parking lot up to the front doors… my buddy was so mad and so bent on revenge he didn’t even realize he was in front of the doors to the emergency room… he jumped out to confront this man as the man started to cry out “please help me, my father is having a heart attack”. My friends heart immediately broke… he was disgusted at himself… he loved his Dad and could only imagine what this man was going through. He stumbled back into his car and realized … I don’t know everything.
