E65: Connecting Surgeons across the World onto One Operating Platform to Save Lives - Dr Nadine (Founder of Proximie)

In this week’s episode we are joined by Dr Nadine, a consultant plastic surgeon and CEO who shares her journey to becoming a  global innovator. We delve into the reasons as to why she choose plastic surgery and the role females play in the world of surgery. Dr Nadine shares her story behind Proximie, the augmented reality platform that is saving lives by sharing the world's best clinical practice, now in use in over 35 countries across the world. We discuss the cases where Proximie has proven to be life-changing by allowing surgeons across the world to collaborate and access the same operating theatre. At one point, Dr Nadine even shares a personal case involving her mother and Proximie.

Dr Nadine shares her experience of delivering a TED talk which has been watched by over a 1 million people and receiving an BEM by the Queen. Dr Nadine Hachach-Haram, BEM, is the CEO and Founder of Proximie. She is also a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Head of Clinical Innovation at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Proximie is a technology platform on a mission to save lives by sharing the world’s best clinical practice. 

Dr. Nadine received the British Empire Medal in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours for her innovative work within the fields of surgery and medicine. She has also undertaken a number of roles to help advance surgery, including being a council member of the Royal College of Surgeons Future of Surgery Commission, council member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) Innovation UK, and council member of the Royal Society of Medicine plastic surgery section.
