Episode 082, This episode is all about you! What you decide to resolve in the New Year!
Key takeaways from episode 082.
Despite our best intentions, once the new year wears off, many people struggle to make good on their resolutions. According to the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only 46% of people who make New Year's resolutions will be successful. That means over half of us who decided for the new year will fall short!
So how do you make sure your one of the 50%? You focus on the areas of your life that matters to you! Not the areas your family or friends think that matter. This is for you!
What have you decided for yourself?
What does success look like for you?
Keep this in mind.
Prepare for change
Understand that most of us hate change. Yes, you will face roadblocks along the way, but stay the course. The most important thing is to make progress each day and find ways to celebrate small wins. Where did I make progress?
Limit resolutions to a manageable amount
We have the best intentions. A common mistake in resolution setting is having too many and spreading yourself too thin. We all want to learn a new skill, Be Happy, get more organized, save more money, live life to the fullest. We only have so much attention span we can dedicate to personal growth.
So make a shortlist of resolutions that you can manage in the upcoming year. Start with the most important thing in making your life better.
Write down your resolutions. In episode 080 I have a pdf you can use that will keep you on track or click the link below:

While it's great to have goals, it is critical to document them in some way.
Writing down your resolutions helps you clarify what it is you want to achieve. It forces you to make decisions and be precise with your words.
Writing establishes intention, but action steps are necessary to achieve your resolution. Having a written account of your goals is a constant reminder to take action.
