Journaling can feel intimidating, at least it was for me anyway - so much pressure to write everyday, write a lot, write out your feeling or should it be documenting of the day? All these lies about the rules of journaling that I was telling myself, prevented me from even starting. Once I finally got over the pressure of "not doing it right" and just started, I found that it's just about taking the time to note my thoughts/feelings. And that, is a powerful habit.
