Art Prof Clara Lieu demonstrates how to do trace monotypes. Watch this episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/nAs_pFndFWg. This is an easy & fast printmaking technique that creates an amazing range of textures and marks. First a thin layer of printmaking ink (water mixable oils, oils, or acrylic mixed with slow-dri medium work too) is rolled onto a sheet of plexiglass. Next a sheet of paper is placed on top of the plexiglass that has ink on it, and then you can draw with a pen, pencil, any tool that will make a mark. Pull up the paper and you will see your trace monotype on the other side of the paper!
