Revelation 1:12–18
A few weeks ago we attempted to address the current situation in the Canadian church by looking at Ephesians 3:1–13. We asked then, “What will give us courage in the face of these difficulties?” We saw that we needed a high view of the church in order to be committed to our fellowship with one another in light of the current government restriction of it. This time we will attempt to address the current situation again but our focus will be not so much on the persecution of the church, but on the seemingly weak state of the Canadian church. Our text will be Revelation 1:9–20, especially verses 12–18. Last time we saw “The Glorious Church of Jesus Christ,” now we look at “The Glorious Christ of the Church. When we see so few churches willing to make a stand for the church of Jesus Christ we need to be reminded of John’s vision of the glorified Christ standing in the midst of the churches.
