She talks about her upbringing in Flint, Michigan, how going to an HBCU (Xavier- Louisiana) made her a better person and doctor, and how she had to take get through failure in medical school. Dawn then discusses why she chose psychiatry, and how doing therapy for athletes opened her eyes to the trauma and issues they go through being on the big stage.
