TV & Film:Film History
ThePoeticCritic guides us through a year-by-year breakdown of the most important/notable features of each year of the 1980s. This was a time where independent studios were looking to fill the void of a Disney company that was in the middle of restructuring. As a result, we go in depth about the rise and eventual fall of Don Bluth (An American Tail). We discuss the evolution of adult animation pioneer Ralph Bakshi (Fire and Ice), the end of Rankin/Bass's forays in to cinema (The Last Unicorn), I throw in a little anime from the Streamline Pictures era, and we mention all of the blink and you missed their airings on Disney Channel and HBO features.
