Welcome to Episode 195 where we get serious about a very important part of taking responsibility: and that is owning your feelings and taking responsibility for honoring them and not leaking them out on others. It involves acknowledging and accepting your emotions without letting them control your behavior or manipulate others.
In this episode, we will explore the importance of emotional ownership in healthy relationships and communication. We will discuss the negative consequences of leaking feelings, manipulating, gaslighting, blaming, and acting out, and how these behaviors can harm our relationships and our own well-being. You can’t be emotionally immature and feel good about yourself, nor can you have healthy relationships or success in life. Learning to own, and honor what you feel is creating self-trust and lowering your anxiety. Not acting out immaturely means you can connect in healthier, more meaningful ways with others, which can help you feel heard, loved and known.
Key Elements:
· Look at different ways we can leak out our feelings.
· Explore the toxicity of manipulation, blaming and gaslighting.
· Discuss what it means to take full ownership of your feelings.
“You are always responsible
for how you act,
no matter how you feel.
Remember that.”
